Levi Leipheimer has teamed up with Kelly Starrett to release 14 mobility exercises designed to improve range of motion and performance.
Levi’s Gran Fondo, the cycling race organized by former pro cyclist Levi Leipheimer, is set to take place in Santa Rosa, California on the 1st of October. To help participants building up to the race, Leipheimer has just released a 14-day core challenge in collaboration with Dr Kelly Starrett.
If you’re an athlete and you don’t know him Kelly Starrett, you’re in for a treat.
Head of San Francisco Crossfit and Doctor in physiotherapy, Starrett has spurred something of a revolution in the field of performance hacking and self therapy. He founded Mobility WOD, which is a truly invaluable system dedicated to help you perform better and stay injury free. The goal is to restore correct body position and range of motion through a comprehensive system of exercises. On top of the rich and exhaustive website, Starrett has also written a number of books on the topic, such as the New York Times best seller Becoming a Supple Leopard and, more recently, Deskbound.
While the following exercises are primarily focused on cycling-specific performance, their benefits carry over into other sports and quite simply into daily life.
